Without doubt one of the best comic book movies ever made, first-rate performances by an all-star cast with the late Heath Ledger a standout in a now legendary Oscar winning performance as the nefarious Joker. Christopher Nolan's masterful direction, brilliant cinematography by Wally Pfister and a powerful musical score by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer. Surprising twists a creepy atmosphere and a smashing climax makes this a truly unforgettable film.

I did laugh everytime when Christian Bale talked as Batman, very funny, but he was good as Bruce Wayne. Heath Ledger was the stand out performer. He was terrific as the Joker! He was definitley casted very well (R.I.P Heath Ledger). Aaron Eckheart was great as Harvery Dent/Two Face, and Gary Oldman's performance as Gorodn was outstanding. I've pretty much only been talking about the acting. As you can see everyone was good. The action was so well done. Christopher Nolan is such a great director, and some of the scenes in this film are just so exciting and fun. I was disapointed that I didn't see this in IMAX because I heard it was great. The explosions are really well filmed and I thought it was terrific that they didn't use as many special effects as they did in the first one. Everything was done so well and it looked really realistic. The script and characters were great. I loved the way Harvey Dent develops into Two Face, I thought it was well handled and lets not forget the character of the Joker. He was a key character and definitley one of the most effective villains in cinematic history. I highly recommend this film. Not only is this my favourite superhero film, it's probably up there with some of the best films I've ever seen.

What's really sad about The Dark Knight is that Heath Ledger controlled the entire film. Even now after his death, when someone mentions Batman, he comes up almost instantly as The Joker. The previous installments hold nothing on him. The sad thing about that is, any new Batman film won't ever hold up against The Dark Knight. No other villian will be as good as The Joker. I know I'm repeating myself constantly on this subject, but you have to watch it to see what I mean. On the story of Christian Bale, he is also the best Batman ahead of Michael Keaton. The general concept and the sadistic nature of The Dark Knight makes it the best film to come out of 2008.
